About GCFCU
Gulf Coast Federal Credit Union is a not-for-profit financial cooperative with the sole purpose of giving you greater value than commercial banks. We believe access to low-cost financial services is critical to the vitality of our local economy and community.
We are big enough to meet your every financial need, yet not too big that we can’t give you personalized service. And because we’re local, we can be more responsive to your needs.
You know our name, and most important, we know yours.

Who can join?
Anyone who lives, works, worships, or attends school, as well as businesses and other legal entities, in Mobile County. Once a member, always a member, so you can take advantage of our great service wherever you go.
Why join?
Because you understand the importance of value for your money, and you support local businesses, and prefer to be treated as a friend rather than just an account.
Our founding members created an institution to serve the unique needs of Mobile City and County; with an emphasis on value and service over profits — and who wouldn’t like that!
History
The first credit unions were established a century ago. Today, more than 100 million people in the U.S. — nearly one-third of Americans — are members of a credit union.
Gulf Coast Federal Credit Union has been a part of the Mobile County community since 1951, when Mobile City and County employees pooled their resources to provide affordable loan to co-workers. As a cooperative, we are completely owned and directed by our membership and now serve nearly 7,000 members.
Board of Directors
The board of directors is made up of volunteers elected by our members like you, and they oversee the management of the credit union.
